Vor 30 Jahren schrieb Commander Tom mit Are Am Eye ein Stück Musikgeschichte, das die Techno-Szene weltweit prägte. Die markante Hook kennt bis heute jeder Raver – sie hat Generationen von Clubgängern und Festivalbesuchern begleitet. Zum 30-jährigen Jubiläum haben Künstler wie Jam El Mar, Supergloss, Farrago und Der Dritte Raum den zeitlosen Klassiker neu interpretiert und ihm frische Energie eingehaucht. Mit ihren Versionen transportieren sie den Spirit der 90er in die Gegenwart, verbinden alte Schule mit modernen Techno-Sounds und zeigen, wie zeitlos dieser Track wirklich ist. Nun erobert Are Am Eye erneut die Herzen der Szene, mit wuchtigen Techno-Beats, die auf den Raves genauso funktionieren wie damals und die Magie von Commander Toms Original weitertragen. Am 14.06.2022 jährte sich der Release erneut – doch nur wenige Tage zuvor, am Sonntag, den 12. Juni, erreichte uns die traurige Nachricht, dass Thomas Weyer, alias Commander Tom, verstorben ist. Sein Vermächtnis lebt jedoch in Are Am Eye und in der globalen Techno-Kultur für immer weiter.
